The Deadwoods

The best way to learn about the influences and history of The Deadwoods, is to learn about each of the band's parts. The Deadwoods line-up began to develop over a decade ago when Dave Thom and James Glinsek started jamming together in various cover bands in high school, pounding out classic, alternative, rockabilly and Minneapolis rock 'n' roll. After a long while of drinking, playing, and experimenting Dave began writing his own original songs, and with James backing on drums the two recorded a full length solo CD called "Short of Breath". The bands rhythm section was completed when Jason Alexander filled the vacancy on bass, providing a solid backbone for the band and also filling in some nice vocal harmonies. Most recently Corey Bayer has joined the band as the lead guitar player.

The Deadwoods have musical influences that cover the musical gammut, from Rock to Country, Blues to Jazz, and Funk to Folk. Their style is a unique blend of musical personalities that they like to simply call rock and roll, but could also be described as alternative bar-room rockabilly.
